Towards “Oneness”

I have been thinking lately about the force of convergence in the digital social media space. Though I can’t help but downplay the digital media element of this thought and just focus on the effects of convergence on social evolution. The Internet as a digital manifestation of “our web-like existence” has given us a substantial social evolutionary jump, with media objects as our canvas for expressing social values. Social values are then posted, distributed, commented on, and archived as a collective memory.
Our collective social means of experiencing one another will wax and wane through several types of social digital operations as we go about our day. We may experience direct and indirect broadcast messaging, group messaging, private messaging, post messaging, and ambient messaging.
As we move forward in this evolving and abundant digital media environment, and continue to express our social values to our web of connections, I believe there will be a natural gravitation towards oneness where ‘all’ our digital social media tools converge and exist as an interdependent fluid structure, sharing a common service of furthering the evolution of social awareness and activity.
